A Rainy Week On Campus

Hi friends!

the fall leaves on my walk home

It has been a very crappy rainy week on the U of I campus, and while I don't normally dislike the rain, it is definitely a pain in the butt when you have to walk to class in it. I would highly recommend investing in a good pair of rain boots (go for a neutral color, the pink floral ones I bought don't exactly go with too many outfits). The rain also makes outfit and hair choices a bit rough. And for someone like me, who doesn't need any more of an excuse to throw my hair in a bun and look like a bum, it causes a bit of a fashion disaster.. oh well! Rain aside, the fall leaves have been so pretty this week! All sorts of reds and oranges and yellows.

Unfortunately all of the pretty leaves have ended up on the ground due to the ridiculous winds whipping around campus today.

I battled the cold rainy weather today with some warm tea and E! News, the remedy for anything! If anyone else is dealing with this dreary weather, I hope you are staying warm and dealing with the beauty issues caused by rain better than I am… unfortunately pony tails and my dad's oversized sweatshirts don't count as fashion…

Happy hump day!

Polyvore outfit: A Day Out

Hi friends!

A Day Out

A Day Out by hannah-grace-larson featuring 7 for all mankind skinny jeans

Here's an outfit I threw together on Polyvore! It's a website that allows you to create, explore and shop outfits and decor. It's a lot of fun although the outfits are not usually budget friendly (at least not for my budget.. cue the poor college student tears) but it is a great source for outfit inspiration!

I love everything about this outfit, I love love love the boots, and I love the hat but I have not yet been brave enough to try one out in my own wardrobe.

This outfit features a top from Monki, Jeans from 7 For All Mankind, boots by H by Hudson, bag by Fossil, and hat by Rag and Bone

College in a nutshell.

Laying on the floor because you can't spread out enough any where else...

Feeling like an idiot because you had 3 days of doing absolutely nothing when you should have been studying.

Wanting to sleep.

Giving up

My advice to you: learn not to procrastinate. It will SAVE YOUR LIFE.

Sunday Smiles: November 3rd

Meet our son Indigo who was born on the 9th July 2012. From that day my wife and I videoed Indigo at least once a day, every day up to a year old. For his first birthday we've spent some time putting together a video of his entire first year. He doesn't quite appreciate it yet, but we hope that in a few years he will.
MUSIC: Thanks to Mychael Danna and Devotchka for use of “The Winner Is” music from the “Little Miss Sunshine” soundtrack.

I chose this video for Sunday Smiles this week because I actually smiled the ENTIRE video. It is so adorable and fun to see this little guy go through his first year. And if you love babies as much as I do, this video is definitely worth the 7 minutes!

Foxy Friday: Tom Hardy

So I'm going to use foxy Fridays to talk about some of my favorite actors and celebrities, and we're kicking it off with my love, Tom Hardy!

Here he is, in all his beautiful glory. Just look at those lips. YUM.

Don't even get me started on his bod. The muscles, the tattoos, the EVERYTHING. He's perfect. I just want to latch on to his perfect abs and never let go.

This picture is from his movie This Means War and if you have not seen it, watch it now! Why wouldn't you want to see a romantic comedy with Chris Pine and Tom Hardy being romantic and punching each other in the face.

Look at all that god damn smolder..

Warning: too hot to handle. I mean the dress shirt and tie and the smolder and the stubble. My heart is racing.

TATTOOS. I was never a huge fan of tattoos until Tom but dayyyum can he work those tattoos.

Okay how many people do you know that can pull of the homeless look..? Tom can and he looks fine as hell with a beard, messy hair, and a cigar. damn fine.

AND HE'S AN ANIMAL LOVER. I cannot even deal with the combined cuteness of this picture. Melts my heart.

Casual Tom is just as attractive as dressed up Tom. And again with the stubble.. I just want to touch his face.
And holy shit. He's killing me.

So there he is, he's a great actor, and a hot piece of ass. If you haven't seen his movies I highly recommend them (especially Bronson, A+ acting, although it is pretty intense and gritty.. Just a forewarning). He is perfect.

Happy HALLOWEINER!

As someone who is kind of a Halloween Scrooge, I usually take the lazy way out when it comes to my celebrations. I am however, a fan eating wayyy too much candy and seeing a never ending parade of ridiculous costumes. I'm not one for spending lots of time and money (or effort) on a costume so I threw together a where's Waldo costume and went for a more comfortable look!

An easy enough costume and I didn't have to worry about being uncomfortable or cold.

I also celebrated by spending my while afternoon drawing this sPoOoOkY skull
So there's the extent of my Halloween festivities.

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween!
